What? Us? Friends? How could that be? Just because we’ve known each other forever and a day. But then, we have and we do, and it’s been a wild, wonderful ride. Here’s hoping forever lasts a good, long while yet.

For 13 years, we went to school. For many more we’ve faced the real world, married, worked, raised our babies and tended to our families. Now, as we reconnect, it’s time for us to rediscover the joys of being “besties.” Be afraid! Be very afraid!

Science says that opposites attract. But if that’s the case, how come we are such good friends? Two crazies like us should run away as fast as we can from each other. Instead, we stick together like glue. Maybe, in this case, it’s safer for the world for us to be friends.

Friends share clothes, shoes, secrets, good times and bad. They stand up for each other, beside each other and with each other through thick and thin. They fuss, argue and fight. Then they make up with laughs and hugs. But should the day ever come when a joke and a drink won’t patch things up, well, that’s okay too. We’ll just find someone else to put up with us.

Some people call their closest ally and confidant their best friend. You call yours a crazy stalker. But I resemble that remark!

From cradle to grave, we travel a path laid out before us. If we are lucky, we make friends along the way that make the journey worthwhile. And maybe we are lucky enough to meet ones who make the passage full of fun. We call those co-conspirators in mischief and shenanigans!

We’ve known each other a long, long time. We’ve been friends and pals forever. And even though we may go weeks without talking, months without seeing each other, we still take the fifth whenever we get questioned about each other.

Over the years, we have shared joy and sorrow, laughs and tears. We have seen the good times and the bad, fun times and hard times. And, if the mirror would just show us what we want to see instead of what is there, we could go on forever.

Happiness is a cold beer and good friends to share it with. Or maybe it means having at least one good friend to buy the beer and help you drink it.

By bus. By plane. By car. By train. By boat. By horse. By bike, of course. If ever you need me, all you have to do is give me a call and I’ll be there as fast as I can. Just don’t ask me to get there by foot!

When we were children, we thought as children, played as children and prayed as children. Now we are grown and must think as adults, play as adults and pray as adults. And wish we were children again.

Friends are a gift we give ourselves. Good friends are our reward for being loyal and true. Best friends are what we get when we let someone know where the bodies are buried.

It is said that a person can’t pick their family, but they can pick their friends. Well some people have questionable taste!

When I grow up, I want to be just like my best friend. She’s smart, and pretty, and stylish, and an excellent cook, and … oh wait. I already am!
